User Data Deletion
Date of last revision: July 30, 2026
You own your data. This page explains exactly how to delete your Leadsocial account and every piece of data associated with it, what gets removed, what we are required to keep, and how long each step takes.
If you only want to stop Leadsocial from receiving new data from Instagram, start with Section 1. If you want everything erased, go to Section 2.
1.Disconnect Instagram (stops new data)
Disconnecting revokes Leadsocial's access to your Instagram professional account. New messages and comments stop syncing immediately, all automations stop sending, and no further data is collected. Conversations already imported stay in your account until you delete them or delete your account.
You can disconnect from either side:
- In Leadsocial: go to Settings, find your connected Instagram account, and choose to disconnect.
- In Instagram: open Instagram, then go to Settings and privacy → Website permissions → Apps and websites, and remove Leadsocial. This works even if you no longer have access to your Leadsocial account.
2.Delete your account and all your data
Leadsocial does not yet have a self-service delete button in the app. To have your account and all associated data permanently deleted, send us a request and we will process it for you.
How to request deletion
Email richard@leadsocial.co from the email address on your Leadsocial account, with the subject line "Delete My Account".
Include your Instagram handle so we can identify the right workspace. If you cannot email from your account address, tell us and we will verify your identity another way before deleting anything.
We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. We will email you to confirm once it is done. There is no charge for this, and you do not need an active subscription to make the request.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription, deleting your account also cancels it; you may want to export anything you need first.
3.What gets deleted
When we process your deletion request, the following is permanently removed from our live systems:
- Your account, login credentials, and any Google sign-in link;
- Your workspace, including its business and brand profile;
- All Instagram conversations and message content imported into your inbox;
- All lead records, including lead profile data, profile pictures, tags, notes, reminders, and timelines;
- All automations, tag rules, keyword lists, scheduled messages, and AI agent configuration;
- The search index built from your messages, including all derived embeddings;
- Stored Instagram access tokens and the connection itself;
- Push notification subscriptions; and
- Uploaded files and images associated with your workspace.
If you are the owner of a workspace with teammates, deleting the workspace deletes the shared data for everyone in it. Teammates are notified.
4.What we keep, and why
A small amount of information survives deletion because the law requires it or because it no longer identifies you:
- Billing and tax records: invoices, payment records, and subscription history are retained by us and by Stripe for as long as applicable tax, accounting, and financial regulations require. These are kept for compliance only and are not used for any other purpose.
- Backups: our systems keep rolling encrypted backups. Deleted data may persist in those backups for a short period until they are overwritten in the ordinary course, after which it is gone. It is not restored to live systems.
- Security and abuse logs: minimal records needed to prevent fraud, investigate abuse, or defend legal claims.
- Aggregated and anonymized data: statistics that cannot be traced back to you or your leads.
5.Data from your Instagram account
Leadsocial receives Instagram data through Meta's official APIs under the permissions you grant. Deleting your Leadsocial account removes every copy of that data held by us, and we instruct our processors to do the same.
Deleting your Leadsocial data does not delete anything from Instagram itself. Your conversations, comments, and posts remain on Instagram exactly as they were. To delete data held by Meta, use Instagram's own settings.
Our use and transfer of information received from Meta APIs adheres to the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies, including any limited-use requirements.
6.If you are not a Leadsocial customer
If you messaged a business that uses Leadsocial and you want your information removed, contact that business directly. They control their own inbox and can delete your record themselves. Leadsocial processes those conversations on their behalf and generally cannot delete a single lead's data without their instruction.
If you cannot reach the business, or you believe your data is being handled unlawfully, email richard@leadsocial.co and we will help you resolve it.
7.Other privacy rights
Deletion is one of several rights you may have depending on where you live, alongside access, correction, portability, and objection. Those are described in Section 5 of our Privacy Policy, and requests for any of them go to the same address: richard@leadsocial.co.
